Domain of One's Own

Features

Domain of One's Own provides Bryn Mawr College students, faculty, and staff with their own subdomain of digital.brynmawr.edu (e.g., yourdomain.digital.brynmawr.edu), which they can use to host websites and web content. Much as Virginia Woolf believed a room of one's own gave women the figurative and literal space necessary to become writers, a domain of one's own gives 21st-century authors the digital space needed to experiment, develop digital competencies, and pursue digital scholarship and creative work.

Domain of One's Own is a great place to build and host a website, digital research project, or e-portfolio using popular open source tools such as WordPress, Omeka, Scalar or MediaWiki. You can install more than one application on a domain. Advanced users can also use the FTP and file management tools provided to publish and manage web content built outside of these applications.
